Many ClickUp users experience a common issue where tasks that have been completed continue to clutter their synced Google calendars. This persistent presence of completed tasks hinders the ability to have a clear, concise view of current and upcoming tasks, resulting in decreased productivity and increased frustration. Although these tasks were initially added to calendars for time management, the inability to have them removed automatically once completed is a significant drawback. ClickUp users have expressed a varied preference for this feature—some need it for a clean calendar, while others prefer to keep completed tasks for record-keeping or review purposes. Implementing a solution that offers flexibility to accommodate different user preferences, such as an optional toggle, would enhance the utility of calendar syncing greatly.

  • Optional Task Removal:
    Implement an optional setting allowing ClickUp users to enable or disable the automatic removal of tasks marked as closed from Google Calendar. The setting should be accessible and easy to switch on or off according to user preference.
  • Two-way Integration Feedback:
    Enhance feedback mechanisms from Google Calendar to ClickUp such that any changes made in the calendar (e.g., marking a task as complete) should automatically update the status of the task in ClickUp.
  • Task Status Visibility Toggle:
    Provide another feature allowing users to choose if completed tasks should appear with a distinct visualization (e.g., strikethrough, different color) or be hidden entirely from the calendar. This will help users at a glance understand task completion status directly from their calendars.
